The history of Russian national history glorify the a small number of spouses whom voluntarily thought we would share Siberian exile using their husbands who had been penalized for the anti-monarchist uprising in December 1825. A study of pictures of prisoners’ spouses shows exactly how Russian social mythology has promoted a robust, stereotypical image associated with ‘Decembrist wife’ while the epitome of marital love, devotion and sacrifice that is personal.
